Choose from a fixed-route or a customised tour for your exploration of Edinburgh:
- My three fixed-route options are each three hours in length and focus on either the Old Town and Royal Mile, the New Town, or a combination of Old and New Town areas.
- A customised route can start at your accommodation (or any convenient central location) and will cover a combination of highlights and hidden gems of the city. Customised tours typically include areas or features that aren't covered on my fixed-route tours - details of the exact route will depend on where we start...
If you have specific interests you'd like to explore, or if you want to see particular areas or aspects of the city, you can let me know and I'll tailor our route accordingly.
I guarantee no ghost stories, no costumes, and no Harry Potter - all tours are history-focused and fact-based explorations, and generally suitable for ages 12+.
Every tour is delivered by me, a local guide with over 25 years experience of living and working in Edinburgh - I really take your tour personally! :)
My Edinburgh tours can only be booked with me directly — I don’t sell through Tripadvisor, Viator, Getyourguide or any online travel agents, so when you book an Edinburgh tour with me you can be assured you're getting the best tour and the best service at the best price!

- Old Town and Royal Mile: Outside the Palace of Holyroodhouse
- New Town: On Charlotte Square
- Old and New Towns: In the Grassmarket
I'll confirm specific details of the exact meeting point by email after your booking is confirmed.
- For customised tours, I can meet you anywhere in Edinburgh city centre and plan a route from there - or we can discuss the options for a meeting point after confirming the tour, if you'd prefer.
My tours will not take you inside any paid entry visitor attractions. I do not offer tours of Edinburgh Castle.

*All tours booked through the online system are subject to a 4.9% booking fee. To book without a fee please email me.
In the event of your travel plans changing at short notice, tour dates may be rearranged. There is no charge for rearranging dates, subject to availability.
If you need to cancel your private tour up to two weeks prior to your tour date, the cost of your tour will be refunded, less a £50 cancellation fee.
No refunds will be offered for private tour cancellations within two weeks of the tour date.
